NotesBookmark as: http://www.pf-roio.de/roio/roio-cd/reactor.cd.html Format: CD Catalog: BIG 097 Big Music Produced: 1995 Date: 680625 Cover: Front: Nighttime picture of moon over ocean, with front view of a jet engine substituted for the moon. Pink writing with "Pink Floyd" across top, and "Re*actor" (*=atomic symbol). Clear CD tray, with pink-tinged picture of the Floyd foursome (early 70's) and the CD title again. CD: Picture disc with centered jet intake, and "PINK FLOYD" and "RE-ACTOR" in pink. Back: Closeup of jet intake, with song titles radiating like spokes from the center. Some prankster printed "ddd" under the "p. 1995" copyright. Insert: Long folded sheet, with digitized/pixellated pics of the band in concert circa '71, and repeat of tray liner photo. The part facing the disc has the jet intake (again!) and brief description of the band's status as of the start of the '71 tour. Text reprinted below. Sources: 25 Jun 1968, +others Claims Europe '71. Echoes 21:54 Band: Roger Waters David Gilmour Rick Wright Nick Mason Quality: Sup, except 10,11 Comments: I would rate 10 and 11 as VG -> BTW Track times are from CD player; total time is just over 74 minutes. The only really notable thing about this disc is the Top Gear material, which has been available elsewhere, but I don't think it's ever been this clean-- sounds like the master. Some fake crowd noise is mixed in, but not intrusively. It's too bad the rest of the TG material wasn't on this disc rather than what is. The first three tracks seem to be exactly the same source as BIG 095. The last two tracks are inexcusably poor quality; certainly listenable, but there are several discs of that material that are better. -ANON (Last update: 951022)
